£21 million and counting…

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

That’s the figure raised by Children in Need on the day itself (Friday 14th) and over the weekend, but there’s still lots to roll in from around the country, including over £800 from GRP.  We raised the money through a frankly deranged combination of raffle, bring-and-buy and fancy dress (with special mentions due to Garry “Amy Winehouse” Allen and Iain “Tinkerbell” Finlay).

We’re still accepting donations, by the way, so you could chip in and help us reach a grand.  Call Emma if you’d like to buy a copy of our GRP cookbook - minimum contribution, three quid.

For Auld Lang Syne

Monday, December 31st, 2007

It’s early morning on a gloomy 31st December, and a few dedicated souls have dragged themselves into GRP for the last day of the year.  As we compare notes on hangovers and laugh at each others’ Christmas jumpers, it’s time to reflect on the agency’s 21st year and look ahead to 2008.  Most of all though, it’s an opportunity to wish all our friends - whether clients, suppliers, business partners, peers, rivals or just good mates - a prosperous, happy and fulfilling New Year.  Have a great time tonight everyone.

Karting in Klydebank

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

GRP’s resident serious motor sport enthusiast, Colin Murchie, organised a rather-less-than-serious evening of kart racing for 16 of us at Scotkart’s indoor track at Clydebank this week.  Amazingly, nobody was killed and it was great fun - although all three positions on the winner’s podium were taken by ringers (Marc Love’s mates Neil, Paul and Danny).  The larger gentlemen amongst us can blame weight disadvantage for poor performance, while Janet Skillen’s wooden spoon can be explained by the fact she’s a girl.  In the searing white-hot thrill of competition, we forgot to take any pictures, but you can get an idea of the event by visiting http://www.scotkart.co.uk/
