Take the Right Route

July 15th, 2009

GRP recently managed the launch of Falkirk Council’s ‘Take the Right Route’ initiative, a 2-year Scottish Government sponsored active travel project encouraging residents of Stenhousemuir and Larbert to consider alternative transport modes other than taking the car.

GRP launched the initiative to the public with a high profile event in the town centre, which included activities to engage residents and communicate the range of local facilities available to help encourage residents to leave the car at home.

GRP devised a combination of unique interactive activities, which ensured that the initial launch of the project was understood clearly by the target audience as well as capturing data for future activities. These included the use of Bluetooth, instant photography interaction, video feedback techniques as well as the more traditional fun events.

The launch activity included a targeted direct mail campaign, outdoor, ambient and press advertising, as well as an interactive website with event related photo library and registration facility.

The water from organic land

May 29th, 2009

Highland Spring homepageWe’re delighted to celebrate the launch of a brand new website for Highland Spring.  The project comes on the back of the successful work we’ve been doing for the brand - the UK’s leading producer of bottled water - since we won the digital account in a four-way pitch last year.  The new site reflects the beauty and purity of the Ochil Hills in Perthshire, where Highland Spring is bottled and where the company protects and nurtures the organic land which gives the water its unique status.

Our site is hardworking as well as beautiful - it has to be, as it accommodates everything from information about health and hydration to sport and sponsorship.  Visit the site now at www.highlandspring.com.

The alchemy of design

May 15th, 2009

We’ve just produced corporate ID, print and digital work for Alchemist, a new commercial property investment fund.  Our brief was to attract high-worth investors by reflecting the unimpeachable professionalism and impressive track record of the founder through our design work.

Alchemist offers the potential for significant returns at a time when a turbulent economic climate is presenting unusual opportunities for future growth.  We created an elegant, restrained design with a positive and optimistic feel for the corporate ID.  This was then beautifully applied to print and digital work.

Refreshing news at GRP

May 15th, 2009

Following on from our digital work with Highland Spring, we were delighted to be appointed to develop a website for the Nattional Hydration Council.  Our site supports an above-the-line campaign promoting the benefits of hydration and naturally sourced water.

The NHC is a not-for-profit advisory group dedicated to researching the science and communicating the facts about naturally sourced bottled water. The founding members are Highland Spring Ltd, Danone Waters (UK & Ireland) Ltd and Nestlé Waters UK Ltd.

More sex for GRP

March 3rd, 2009

Over recent years we’ve developed quite a reputation for sex at GRP. To be more precise, we’ve earned a great track record for social marketing and advertising relating to sexual health. So we’re delighted to report we’ve won the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Men who have Sex with Men (MSM) project for 2009.

Our earlier sexual health work for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and other NHS areas has included campaigns and projects for the lesbian and gay communities, condom distribution for the general public, and a multi award-winning project including books and online for young people. See one of our past gay sexual health projects in the WORK section of this site.

This year’s MSM activity will focus on the resurgence of HIV in the gay community and will promote a safer-sex message about condom use and regular HIV testing. Creative work will appear in both the general media and gay venues and publications.

Allan of the Arctic

The worse for wear

The worse for wear

GRP partner Garry Allan has just returned from an epic adventure in aid of a good cause.
On February 16th he set out on the Rangers Arctic Challenge expedition - led by RFC Chief Executive Martin Bain - to face temperatures as low as -30C on a 200km sled drive inside the Arctic Circle in Norway. Garry claims he’s never been pulled by dogs before, though he has dressed like one for charity in the past (see earlier posts below). He and the rest of the team endured white-out zero visibility at several points in the gruelling journey, during which they averaged 60km per day, although they did see some brilliant arctic sunshine too. There were times when Garry wondered why he’d signed up - particularly when a round of four beers in Oslo airport came to £37 - but it was an unforgettable experience and he’s raised over five grand already.

Funds raised from the trip - the overall target is at least £50k - will go to this year’s nominated charities UNICEF, RNIB and, in Glasgow, Fairbridge. You can still sponsor Garry here.

Serving the environment, remotely

February 25th, 2009

If you live in Buckinghamshire, we hope you enjoy our trees. GRP just signed a hosting contract with a company called Rackspace, who work with the International Tree Foundation to offset carbon emissions by planting and protecting trees globally. Our little saplings just went into the ground at Strouts Field in Chesham, and we sincerely hope they flourish. Meanwhile, we’re doing our best to cut down on waste and polution back home in Glasgow, with at least two people commuting by bike on a regular basis (now that the worst of the winter is behind us, anyway).

Garry goes to the dogs

January 8th, 2009

GRP partner Garry Allan is about to embark on an epic adventure in the aid of a good cause, and we’re hoping he wears more clothes than on his last charity outing (see below).

On February 16th Garry joins the Rangers Arctic Challenge expedition - led by Rangers’ Chief Executive Martin Bain - to face temperatures as low as -30C on a 200km journey inside the Arctic Circle in Norway.  Garry is currently putting in the hours at the gym to get in shape - although in theory the huskies will do most of the work.  Funds raised from the trip - target at least £50k - will go to this year’s nominated charities, UNICEF, RNIB and, in Glasgow, Fairbridge.  To sponsor Garry, go to www.justgiving.com/garryallan.

£21 million and counting…

November 18th, 2008
That’s the figure raised by Children in Need on the day itself (Friday 14th) and over the weekend, but there’s still lots to roll in from around the country, including over £800 from GRP.  We raised the money through a frankly deranged combination of raffle, bring-and-buy and fancy dress (with special mentions due to Garry “Amy Winehouse” Allan and Iain “Tinkerbell” Finlay).
We’re still accepting donations, by the way, so you could chip in and help us reach a grand.  Call Emma if you’d like to buy a copy of our GRP cookbook - minimum contribution, three quid.

Pudsey comes to Possil

November 13th, 2008

It’s Children in Need Day on Friday 14th November and at GRP we’re throwing ourselves into the spirit with fancy dress, a bring-and-buy sale, a raffle and several culinary adventures, including ice-cream and chili-con-carne (not necessarily on the same plate).

Most of this hilarity is confined to our own office, but if you’d like to contribute, you can buy a copy or our mouthwatering charity cookbook, or enter a prize draw to win a Christmas Card designed for your company by our award-winning creative department.

To help a great cause, call us now.
